Job Description:
The Westchester Educational Opportunity Center (WEOC), a division of Westchester Community College, is seeking experienced, energetic, innovative, results oriented professionals to join its team. Located in Yonkers, NY, this non-traditional adult education institution provides tuition-free academic and vocational training to eligible underserved adults seeking to develop basic academic and vocational skills competencies and credentials needed for enrollment in college and/or entry into the workforce.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Seeking energetic and engaging Adjunct Faculty/Pharmacy Technician (WEOC) to teach a variety of courses in the Pharmacy Technician program. The incumbent will provide classroom instruction for students interested in employment as pharmacy technicians (in retail pharmacies or hospitals). Successful candidates must demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of a diverse population and have the ability to work effectively with students who have barriers to employment. Classes may be offered days or evenings.
Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited pharmacy program and hold a current NYS Pharmacist license with a minimum of one year pharmacy work experience; or a Bachelor's degree, preferably in life/health science and certification as a pharmacy technician with a minimum of 4 years' experience. A minimum of one (1) year of teaching or training experience is required. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and presentation skills are required; the ability to establish a rapport with students and maintain an environment that supports learning and promotes student retention, experience teaching remotely, and experience using an LMS are also required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience teaching adult learners and at-risk populations strongly preferred. Organizational and detail-oriented skills also preferred.

POSITION EFFECTIVE: Spring 2023.
SALARY & BENEFITS: The hourly rate of pay is $82.57. No benefits. This position is fully grant funded.
