Job Description

Under supervision, provides front desk support by performing a variety of clerical and receptionist duties in support of daily patient services within clinical areas. Responsibilities include greeting patients, checking in and checking out procedures, appointment scheduling, insurance, and authorization verification, updating patient demographics, audit billing documents, disposition appointments, co-pay collection, managing/monitoring petty cash drawer and working closely with physicians, nurses, staff and other UCSD departments. Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSThree (3) years previous related experience in a large complex healthcare setting.
Proven knowledge of third party payers including federal, state, and private health plans.
Demonstrated computer skills/ability to work between multiple systems during calls.
Ability to work in an interactive environment.
Possess excellent customer service skills.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- EPIC experience.
- Experience in a fast-paced, multi-specialty clinic.
- Authorization and registration experience.
- Must be able to work various locations based on business needs.
- Must be willing and able to float to other locations as requested. Possible overtime.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $54,664 - $67,944 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $26.18 - $32.54
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
