This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at the La Jolla Ambulatory Clinics and remote.
Under supervision, this position is responsible for the coordination of surgery scheduling and surgery-related issues. Schedules outpatient clinic appointments, related tests, procedures and pre- and post-op appointments. Confirms referrals, authorizations are appropriate for the level of scheduled services as well as disability processing. Functions as liaison for patients, physicians, hospitals, and other departments regarding scheduling, authorization and patient surgery preparation. Provides support for DME ordering and coordination of services. Determines patient problems and inform appropriate individuals of solutions and/or make recommendations as appropriate. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Three (3) years of related OB/GYN surgery scheduling experience in ambulatory setting.
- Experience processing authorizations, referrals, and with financial oversight; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience and ability to work with electronic medical records and appointment scheduling.
- Ability to process and secure appropriate referral and authorization for services as needed.
- Ability to understand functions and responsibilities of clinical support units.
- Demonstrated understanding of the TAR process.
- Ability to articulate physician's areas of expertise. Understands and applies Cash Pay/Self Pay processes.
- Possess the extensive knowledge and skills for practice in Ambulatory setting.
- Working knowledge of MS Office.
- Must possess the ability to maintain diplomacy at all times when working with patients, physicians, co-workers, and other UC departments and staff.
- Experience with EPIC system.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $54,664 - $67,944 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $26.18 - $32.54
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
