Department/Division Purpose:

The Division of Medical & Behavioral Health provides educational needs and academic support services for Pueblo Community College students and its diverse communities by offering quality, comprehensive educational opportunities.

Job Summary Statement:

The Coordinator of the Behavioral Health Programs (BEH) provides support to current and potential students in all programing, including certificates, micro-credentials, degrees and initiatives within the program.  This position will involve creativity, innovation and flexibility as the program grows.
 
In accordance with Colorado Revised Statutes 24-50-135, this position has been exempted from the State Personnel System.

 

Job Duties

 

Essential Functions

  • Administrator over all grants and external funding sources. This includes building a sustainable system to organize and analyze revenue and expenses, data collection on programs, student and financial outcomes, and meeting reporting deadlines.
  • Assists in management of general funds.
  • Advises students in the behavioral health program at all campus/site locations. 
  • Collaborates within the BEH department in monitoring reporting systems for alerts relating to students' performance and academic progress by identifying those behaviors which indicate a lack of academic success preparedness. 
  • Coordinates the prior learning assessment (PLA) process for students in the BEH programs  
  • Collaborates with the advising department in finding potential solutions to assist students in successfully completing their education pathway in behavioral health.
  • Coordinates marketing and recruitment activities for the department, including publications and outreach materials. 
  • Engages with stakeholders, including students, college, and external partners to promote the program and guide the department in maintaining relevancy of the curriculum.
  • Supports the department chair in maintaining student records, enrollment data, collecting and interpreting data on certificate and degree progression and completion, and graduate outcomes.
  • Coordinates and participates in assessment of student learning outcomes. 
  • Teaches courses as assigned, no more than 16 contact hours per year.   
  • Provides adequate preparation of the course material for all assigned courses.
  • Maintains regularly scheduled office hours for consultation or advisement with students.
  • Serves as a substitute within the program for absent colleagues for short-term absences as determined by Department Chair, or Dean. 
  • Supervises and enforces appropriate safety procedures.

  • Assesses individual and department work processes and recommends improvements.
  • Complies with State Fiscal Rules, State Board policies, System and College protocols, and departmental procedures.
  • Obtains and maintains proficiency with required systems and equipment.
  • Maintains confidentiality of student and employee information as required.
  • Completes all required compliance training within the established timeline.
  • Serves on committees and other groups as assigned.
  • Dedication to continuous learning of Behavioral Health Professional Standards and academic courses.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

 Qualifications
 
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a behavioral/mental health profession from a regionally accredited institution.
 
Experience
  • Two or more years of professional work experience, preferably in higher education.
  • Experience tracking and reporting data.
  • Experience with grant application and administration.
 
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Knowledge of laws, accreditation standards, and best practices academic program administration.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including excel and/or data tracking spreadsheets, working knowledge of Ellucian Banner 
  • Able to lift 15 pounds.
  • Able to read and communicate in English.
  • Mobility around campus.
 
Travel – frequent travel to Pueblo (main) campus; infrequent travel to Mancos or Fremont campuses.
