Wrangler Kitchen at Odessa College is a bustling short order restaurant that prides itself on delivering gourmet quality food at a fast pace. Our mission is to provide students, faculty, and visitors with delicious, nutritious, and convenient dining options. We are committed to using fresh, locally sourced ingredients and providing a variety of options to accommodate all dietary needs. O’ Cuisine at Wrangler Kitchen is a fine dining experience that our students both cook and serve for, special guests invited. Food Truck at the Wrangler Kitchen is a food truck ran and operated by Wrangler Kitchen staff at different local events.
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing a fast-paced kitchen environment, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, and maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen. This role requires a dynamic individual who can efficiently manage kitchen staff, oversee food preparation, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Specific Position Duties
• Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
• Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standard and in a timely manner.
• Manage inventory, including ordering supplies, conducting stock takes, and minimizing waste.
• Maintain compliance with all health and safety regulations, ensuring the kitchen is clean and hygienic at all times.
• Train, supervise, and motivate kitchen staff, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
• Collaborate with the restaurant manager to develop menu items, special promotions, and improve customer satisfaction.
• Monitor kitchen equipment and ensure it is kept in good repair; arrange for maintenance as required.
• Manage kitchen budgets and keep detailed records of costs.
• Handle any issues that arise in the kitchen and resolve them in a timely and effective manner.
Minimum Qualifications
• Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures.
• Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to train and motivate staff.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions.
• A passion for food and a commitment to quality and innovation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
