Job Summary

The SoRelle Collaborative EBV (scEBV) Lab in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Michigan Medical School is actively seeking postdoctoral scholars to work on single-cell and spatial -omics projects investigating Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection. The projects include: 1) dissecting host-virus interactions that epigenetically regulate cellular function and fate; 2) understanding the pathogenic roles of partial versus complete lytic reactivation; and 3) developing spatially-resolved genome-wide insights from EBV-infected tissues including virus-associated cancers. Required Qualifications*

Candidates must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D., or equivalent degree. We are looking for highly motivated team players with a background in microbiology, immunology, cell biology, or a related field, who are interested in studying host-pathogen interactions and/or viral oncology. Prior experience in virology is not necessary, but previous experience with molecular biology, biochemistry, and/or computational biology is preferred. Experience with single-cell sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, and/or advanced fluorescence microscopy is highly desired. Modes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
